SAMAST

It's not Christmas quite yet but we are surely already in preparation for this PAWSITIVELY cheerful season which has been etched in our hearts as a time to give, bring warmth and spread kindness to not only our loved ones but those who are often overlooked such as the aimless dogs and cats wandering in these dusty streets of Khaye.

As each year brings with it a different energy, this year was one of loss, so it is understandable that we would want Christmas to arrive as soon as possible. The recent departure of our stalwart, the loss of donors due to the ongoing wrath of COVID, and the damage caused to our clinic by the 'sunny' disposition of our climate almost left us with a major loss of confidence in our infrastructure but we never give in.

Not only do we have to make a few urgent and necessary repairs and improvements to our clinic, but we are still strenuously exerting ourselves to exceed our target of 2,500 sterilisation procedures by the end of 2021 whilst hanging on magically to make ends meet!

SAMAST

We have completed 2,246 sterilisation procedures in 2021 to date.

With all these and other challenges coming fast upon us, we have come to learn that our strongest offence is to always be prepared. Prepared for the emergencies and MVAs we can anticipate occurring in December, the spike in surrendered animals that is soon to happen and not forgetting the parvo and tick fever outbreaks which will undoubtedly befall us these summer months. We prepare to ensure that our clinic will continue to be a sanctuary for our patients and staff and lastly, we prepare for the turmoil, tears and equally, the inexplicable joy this work will certainly bring.

SAMAST

Every week we go through an average of 30kgs of cat and dog food.

With your tireless and faithful support, you have given us the validation and confidence to continue to fight the good fight over the years. We ask you to once more stand by us, spread the festive cheer, and help us prepare for this season and what we know it to bring.
